Andy Najar was delighted to have helped the Honduras U23 team into the football finals at this summer's London Olympic Games.
The DC United midfielder was a key member of the squad that made it to the CONCACAF qualifying tournament final, where they went down to Mexico, and upon his arrival to Washington was overjoyed to be able to call himself an Olympian.
"I am excited to be an Olympian for my national team," Najar said. "I'm so excited about that."
And Najar is now hoping to force his way into Luis Fernando Suarez's senior Honduran team.
"I don't know right now," he added. "Every player is going to have to work hard for a spot on the roster. I think it is going to be a hard competition, but I am ready to work hard on the field."
