Atletico Madrid have struck personal terms with Wolfsburg midfielder Diego.

Marca says Atletico have an agreement with Diego over a contract, but still is to settle on a fee with Wolfsburg.

"The situation is this: the player is all 'ok' and only needs the agreement between Wolfsburg and Atletico," said Djair Ribas, Diego's father, last night.

Atletico coach Gregorio Manzano plans to play Diego in a deeper role just off new centre-forward signing Radamel Falcao in attack.
