Chelsea will fund Mourinho striker buying plans

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been given the green light to buy a new striker in January. The Daily Mail says Mourinho is privately frustrated that £50m forward Fernando Torres and Champions League-winning striker Samuel Eto'o have scored just one goal each in the Barclays Premier League.

Demba Ba, the club's third choice forward, has not scored in the Premier League since scoring the winner against West Bromwich on March 2.

Chelsea's search in Europe is likely to be restricted to players who are not cup-tied in the Champions League, but that will not stop them searching for a solution.

Liverpool forward Luis Suarez fits Chelsea's profile and is not cup-tied, but he will not be sold this season.
