Chelsea are ready to bid for St Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Blues scouts made a new check on Aubameyang against Rennes last week and have seen enough to recommend his signing to football director Michael Emenalo, says Mercato365.

With Arsenal also keen, Emenalo hopes to steal a march on their London rivals by convincing Chelsea directors to make an early offer for the forward.

Talks with Aubameyang's camp are expected to kickoff this month.
