Chelsea are prepared to try again for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain in January.Chelsea attempted to prise Higuain away from Real over the summer, but received little encouragement from Real coach Jose Mourinho.

Marca says Chelsea still have the Argie on their shopping list as an alternative to No1 winter market target Radamel Falcao, of Atletico Madrid.

If they cannot reach agreement over the Colombian, Chelsea will make a fresh attempt to sign Higuain to play alongside Fernando Torres.
