"We are not interested in having, say, an American or an Asian in the team because it represents another revenue stream, if you like."
Asked if there was an Asian player good enough to make Chelsea's 23-man squad, Kenyon replied: "I'm not sure there is one.
"This isn't anti-Asian, but just the competitive nature of the game.
"We have 23 players and over the last few years have seen the best from many countries - and they've not been able to get in our team.
"For us, this isn't about a marketing stunt to get someone from Asia to sit on the bench. You need all 23 to play a high number of games."
