Cagliari coach Marco Giampaolo has told Liverpool they can't sign his star winger Pasquale Foggia until the end of the season.

Liverpool have indicated to the Serie A club they're prepared to pay £8 million for the new Italy international, who is seen by many as Francesco Totti's heir.

Giampaolo said: "We are prepared to sell our most important players, but only for the right price and at the end of the championship."
