Luke Varney cannot believe how his fortunes have changed after signing for Blackpool.
The on-loan Derby County striker, who scored in the 2-2 Fulham draw, lines up today against Newcastle.
But hitting those heights was only a dream when he was let go by home town club Leicester, ending up at Midland Alliance side Quorn.
Varney, 27, said: "I thought about playing for another local non-league club, Hinckley. I thought I could keep my cash-and-carry day job and earn a bit on the side.
"It really hurt leaving Leicester but making my Premier League debut was a fairytale and scoring was just off the scale."
