Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes is being linked with Sam Allardyce's job at Newcastle after yesterday's 4-1 defeat at home by Portsmouth.

The News of the World says hundreds of fans walked out after just 11 MINUTES as Newcastle went 3-0 down, sending a clear message to chairman Mike Ashley.

Sources close to Ashley claim there will be no knee-jerk reaction from the boardroom but the chairman is hugely unimpressed with recent performances.

The billionaire is known to be an admirer of Blackburn boss Hughes.
