Barcelona chief Carles Vilarrubí admits Neymar's arrival from Santos has hit their finances. Vilarrubi assured that Barcelona had a pre-contract for Neymar to join the club in 2014, but "pressure from another club" looking to snap up the former Santos player expedited his signing.
The director said, "The club signed a pre-contract with (Neymar) to join the following season (2014). Pressure from another club meant that we had to sign him a year earlier.
'This has affected the financial stability of the club."
