Eduardo is confident he can fill the void at Arsenal left by Emmanuel Adebayor's departure for Manchester City.

The striker, 26, has finally regained full fitness after his double leg break against Birmingham in February 2008.

He is also in Croatia's squad for their World Cup qualifier with Belarus on August 12 and hit a brace in a 5-0 friendly win over Szombathelyi this week.

Eduardo said: "Monday's game was big for me and I was happy to score twice.

"I hope we'll do something this season and that I score more in the future."
