Chelsea chief Frank Arnesen has spoken to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez personally about stories of a bid for Sergio Ramos.
Arnesen insists Chelsea did not make any approach and instead were contacted by an agent representing Ramos asking about their interest.
AS says Arnesen told Florentino: "It is absolutely false. We have not made any bid for Ramos.
"What did surprise us is that we were called by a person on behalf of the player to see if we were interested in signing him ..."
