Melbourne Victory playmaker Gui Finkler isn't concerned about the venue for this Sunday's A-League Grand Final, labelling AAMI Park "the best ground in Australia".

Finkler said the only thing he and his teammates are thinking of is the prospect of lifting Victory's first championship since 2009 when they meet Sydney FC.

"It's a special match, the biggest match of the season," the Brazilian said.

"There is more excitement than tension; everyone is just looking forward to Sunday.

"We have to prepare physically, everyone is prepared mentally, we are all hungry to win on Sunday."

The FFA were keen to have the season's main event played at the larger Etihad Stadium, a move that was blocked by the AFL due to the fixture between Western Bulldogs and Fremantle at the Docklands venue on the same day.

Sydney coach Graham Arnold fired shots at Victory earlier in the week over the choice of venue for the decider, saying it would be akin to Sydney staging a grand final in Paramatta. Arnold also noted Victory's mediocre record at the ground this season (they have lost three times at AAMI Park, compared to only one loss at Etihad Stadium).

But Finkler said his teammates are happy to be playing the game at the rectangular stadium.

"We love playing at AAMI Park. It's a beautiful stadium," he added.

"It's the best stadium in Australia, the atmosphere will be amazing.

"Always when we play here there is a full house, we cannot ask for more.

"I am very happy to play here, and our group are all happy to play here as well."

29-year old Finkler has scored seven goals from 25 appearances this campaign.
