Ten Hag's current deal has just over a year to run and he is said to be ' delighted' with the decision.

There had been reports of Ten Hag being prepared to walk due to the drawnout process led by United director Sir Jim Ratcliffe. However, he is now happy with the show of confidence and is ready to stay on.

There have been "constructive conversations" between management and the Dutchman around the outcome of the review.

Ten Hag has been holidaying with his family in Ibiza as the review has been carried out.
