Yedlin takes solace from Kane's Tottenham development

Tottenham defender DeAndre Yedlin has stated that he is motivated by Harry Kane's rise to prominence in the first team.

Yedlin joined Tottenham in January from MLS club Seattle Sounders but is yet to make a senior appearance for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

However, the 21-year old is not getting disheartened and has stated that the likes of Kane and Nabil Bentaleb managing to establish themselves as regulars in the first team serves as an inspiration to him.

The American international told the London Evening Standard: "It's obviously a place where younger players are developing greatly and you look at Harry Kane he's the main one and he has just shot through the roof and that's very encouraging.

"I think it's very motivating when you have guys like Nabil who has started every game at 20 years old and it's encouraging to know that Pochettino has that kind of trust in younger players."
