West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine has urged Saido Berahino to be patient as he pushes for a senior England call.
The Albion striker is being widely tipped to be named in the Roy Hodgson's squad to face Slovenia and Scotland later this month.
Irvine said: "We keep on having little chats and making sure he realises that if he keeps performing as he has been performing then good things will happen to him.
"When that will be I don't know, other people will make the decisions as far as international football is concerned, he has just got to keep doing what he does.
"If he gets distracted and can't keep his feet on the ground that will not help him to do what he has been doing."
