Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has heaped praise on a pair of young guns who made their debuts on Tuesday night.
17-year old midfielder Jordan Rossiter scored 10 minutes into his senior Reds bow in the Capital One Cup third round against Middlesbrough while 18-year old Welshman came on in the second half of the epic contest.
When looking back on the match, which the Reds won 14-13 on penalties after a 2-2 draw, Toure assessed the contributions of both Rossiter and Williams and admitted he was thrilled with how the teenage pair performed.
"Jordan Rossiter is a great player. I really like this boy. He scored a great goal and showed the strength of Liverpool Football Club," he told the Liverpool Echo.
"Every day when he comes to training he gives 100%. When you play with young players like that you enjoy it.
"Lots of young players out there don't love football and they don't work hard. But with the boys we have here it's amazing.
"Jordan Williams also did really well when he came on. Both Jordans work hard and I wasn't surprised by how well they did."
