Tension growing between England coach Hodgson and Pearce

England coach Roy Hodgson and Three Lions U21 boss Stuart Pearce aren't seeing eye-to-eye.

The People says Pearce wants Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to go to Israel with the Under-21s for the Euros.

But Hodgson spoke to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on Thursday to assure him that his midfielder would not be going to the tournament.

Wilshere will instead play for the senior England team against Ireland at Wembley in May and in Brazil on June 2, rather than featuring in the Under-21 tournament, which runs from June 5 to 18.

Hodgson had already axed Psycho from the coaching role he held with the senior set-up under his predecessor Fabio Capello and FA insiders admit the manager was unhappy with Pearce's comments after the Under-21s beat Sweden 4-0 at Walsall this week.
