Swansea boss Monk wary of West Brom threat under Pulis

Swansea City manager Garry Monk is well aware that West Bromwich Albion will be a tricky side to beat this week.

The Swans head to The Hawthorns on Wednesday to take on the Baggies and Monk knows very well that Tony Pulis' side will be well-drilled from a set-piece situation while also suggesting that they have the ability to play the ball on the ground.

"It is a concern if the referee doesn't see it but Tony doesn't hide how he sets them up," said Monk of the likelihood of Albion blocking their opponents at dead ball situations.

"People might not agree with that way of playing but Tony's very effective and makes no bones about it. They'll be organised, very tough and rugged but he's got good players in that squad and they will be able to play as well.

"You think about the history of West Brom recently and the football they've played, but Tony's put the other side into them and they'll be able to mix it up.

"It's for us to go and combat all that, if it's the blocks on corners or other things."

Swansea currently sit 9th on the Premier League table following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sunderland while the Baggies find themselves sitting 15th in the wake of their 2-2 draw at Burnley on Sunday.
