Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio is keen on Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker.

The Sunday Mirror says Parker has two years left on his contract at White Hart Lane but, at 32, Tottenham could well listen to offers around the £4million mark. Spurs have good cover in midfield with the likes of Sandro and Moussa Dembele.

The one stumbling block could be Parker's Newcastle connection.

He played at St James's Park before moving to West Ham and then ­Tottenham.
