AS Roma director Franco Baldini admits they turned down huge offers for their stars in the summer.

Daniele de Rossi was a top target for Manchester City during the transfer window.

"We turned down several offers for De Rossi and other players worth a total €100m," director general Baldini told Sky Sport Italia.

"We chose Zdenek Zeman because we wanted a man who would not only win in a cynical manner, as history shows.

"We wanted to change the story of football and he seemed to be the ideal person for the job. We want a Coach who wins and doesn't just do the bare minimum."
