NYRB secure ex-Charlton, Leeds winger Sam to new deal

New York Red Bulls have confirmed that Lloyd Sam has signed a new contract with the club.

The 30-year old English winger has penned a multi-year extension to remain with the Red Bulls for the foreseeable future which has delighted sporting director Ali Curtis.

"Lloyd has been a key player for this club the past few seasons and we're very excited to have him in a Red Bull uniform for the coming years," Curtis said in a statement.

"Lloyd is a very dynamic player on the wing and provides a great attacking threat for us."

Then former Charlton Athletic and Leeds United midfielder arrived at Red Bull Arena in August 2012 and has since made 70 appearances for the MLS club, scoring 11 goals and providing 12 assists.
