Mix Diskerud was over the moon after being called into the USA squad for the upcoming friendly with Mexico.

The New York City FC midfielder, 24, was included in Juergen Klinsman's 22-man roster for Wednesday's meeting with El Tri in San Antonio and was looking forward to yet another dramatic encounter.

"It's one of the biggest games you can play in as a US national team member," 27-time US international Diskerud said.

"We play in San Antonio so hopefully we'll have a home field advantage and a lot of people will come support us. I can't wait.

"It's always been a huge game playing against Mexico."
