Shinji Kagawa forgot about his barren run at Manchester United to kickstart Japan's comeback in Tuesday's 3-1 friendly win over Ghana.
The former Borussia Dortmund star scored in the 50th minute with a low 20-yard drive after cutting in from the left to cancel out Frank Acheampong's 24th minute opener for the Black Stars.
Kagawa's goal was the start of a second-half comeback by the Blue Samurai who edged ahead in the 64th minute when Yasuhito Endo curled home from the edge of the area before CSKA Moscow's Keisuke Honda headed home Endo's free-kick to give Alberto Zaccheroni's side a win in Saitama.
