Havenaar on target as Vitesse go top in Holland

Mike Havenaar was on the scoresheet as Vitesse Arnhem went to the summit of the Dutch Eredivisie table on the weekend.

The Japan international scored his fourth league goal of the campaign as Vitesse defeated FC Utrecht 3-1 at the GelreDome to leapfrog AZ Alkmaar into first place after they drew 2-2 with Feyenoord.

Chelsea loanee Christian Atsu opened his account for Arnhem when he converted from the penalty spot just after the half-hour mark before ex-Southampton striker Steve De Ridder pulled back a spot kick of his own around 30 minutes later.

However, Havenaar gave Vitesse the ascendency in the 86th minute before Davy Propper added a third in injury-time as Peter Bosz's men recorded their seventh win in 13 league matches so far this season.
