Departing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admits he "can't wait" for the less intense lifestyle of MLS soccer.

Gerrard will leave for LA Galaxy next week.

"I can't wait for that. I can't wait," he said. "Liverpool is a very passionate city. There are red and blues everywhere you go. You can't go out the front door without bumping into a red or a blue.

"I still want to win and do well and give everything I've got for LA Galaxy, but it will be different to playing for Liverpool.

"It has been very difficult for me with the children doing certain things like swimming lessons and dancing lessons and going for meals in restaurants or having a drink at a coffee shop. It will be nice to be able to walk down the street and go and spend some valuable time with them."
