Former Manchester City and Newcastle United coach Derek Fazackerley has returned to football at Oxford United.
The 62-year-old left Birmingham City under a cloud in February after the club slumped to its worst run of results for 51 years.
Fazackerley lost his job as first-team coach at St Andrew's and was followed out the door by assistant manager Terry McDermott.
But Preston-born Fazackerley has now been appointed assistant boss by new Oxford manager Michael Appleton.
