Everton's Kone has fingers crossed following injury nightmare

Everton striker Arouna Kone is hopeful that his injury woes are a thing of the past.

Kone joined Everton from Wigan Athletic back in 2013 but has managed to make only 18 appearances for the Toffees so far owing to a serious knee injury which he suffered last season.

After a long rehabilitation process, Kone has finally made a successful recovery recently and the 31-year old is now hopeful that his injury woes are completely behind him.

Speaking to Liverpool Echo, Kone said: "I hope that I don't have to go through anything as difficult again. All the way through all you can think of is keeping focused and keeping positive in the hope that something positive is on the horizon.

"I was out of action over 13 months and it was the first time I'd had such an injury problem like it in my career. I've spoken before about how difficult it was mentally for me to cope with that. But now I feel better and it's behind me and now it's behind me and it is about looking forward."
