Former Melbourne Victory striker Danny Allsopp is almost certain to make his MLS debut with DC United this weekend. The 31-year old Australian scored twice for the DCU reserves against second division side Crystal Palace Baltimore after spending a full 90 minutes on the bench on Saturday in the senior team's second match of the 2010 season which they lost 2-0 to the New England Revolution at home.
Allsopp was supposed to come on in the second half of that match but a few injuries forced head coach Curt Onalfo to change his strategy although he did say he was a big chance to play at least some minutes this weekend.
"He has been really sharp over the last two weeks (in training). He is likely to see time this weekend," Onalfo said.
DCU take on expansion franchise Philadelphia Union away this weekend and will be looking for their first points of the season after two straight losses.
