Cherubini says the club has a policy of promoting locally developed talent.
He told TMW: "In March 2022 we had to evolve and create a broader process moving from Juventus U23 to Juventus Next Gen. We decided that at least 3 NG players had to participate in the Juventus squad.
"There were seasons in Juve where we had to remove players from the Champions League lists because we didn't have any youth players. In Sarri's season we excluded: Mandzukic, Khedira and Emre Can. So we subsequently decided to create value and lower costs.
"Now we are at the end of the first two-year NG period and we are quite satisfied because we have 6 Next Gen players with more than 200 appearances. Then we have important players like Soulè, Barrenechea, Huijsen and Barbieri who we hope to be able to return.
"We have reduced costs by 24%. The Next Gen project will remain for many years into the future."
Referring to their Coppa Italia triumph, he also said: “Juve returned to winning ways with 6 players from the youth sector. All different stories, because 3 have completed the entire training course (Miretti, Kean, Nicolussi Caviglia), one who came to us with an exchange like Fagioli and then Iling and Yildiz who did both Primavera and Next Gen.
"The victory with 6 players of the youth sector makes us understand the importance of this project. We won few championships in the youth sector, but we thought about valorisation and growth for the future of the kids."
