Gianfelice is the son of Inter legend Giacinto Facchetti, who also was a former president.
He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "I believe that having focused on him was the perfect choice, a strong and charismatic figure both in his work on the pitch and at a diplomatic level.
"Together with his various collaborators, he allowed the fans not to feel the difficulties linked to Suning's problems, keeping Inter at the top despite the closure of the Chinese taps.
"When Beppe was at Atalanta, my father, a great friend of the then owner Ruggeri, said that that young manager would have a career. I find that there are common traits between them."
