Italiano takes charge of Bologna after leaving Fiorentina last week.
He succeeds Thiago Motta, who has decided to leave after guiding Bologna to Champions League qualification last season.
Bologna announced: “Bologna FC 1909 can confirm the appointment of Vicenzo Italiano as the new head coach of the Men’s First Team. He has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2026,” the Rossoblu said in a statement.
“Born in Karlsruhe (GER) on 10/12/1977, his coaching career has taken him to Trapani, Spezia and Fiorentina. He has achieved one promotion from Serie C, and one from Serie B, has twice guided his team to Europa Conference League qualification, reaching the final on both occasions, and has made it to one Coppa Italia final. He will give his first press conference as Bologna boss next week.”
