Belanov insists Lunin is better than being a backup for Thibaut Courtois.
He said, "I cannot agree that Andriy Lunin returns to the bench for Courtois the next season. His contract expires in 2025 and he is in no hurry to renew. He knows that it is now very important to show off at the European Championships, since scouts from many important clubs in the world will be watching him. If he plays well, Real Madrid will receive a lot offers from top clubs and maybe he will let him go.
"Andriy is certainly not happy with the prospect of becoming the eternal number two and, without guarantees of consistent play from Real, he will want to leave. I see two possible solutions: either Real will make Lunin a promise to play consistently and make him sign a new contract, or he will be sold to another top club.
"The press has already reported the interest of Bayern Munich, who need a replacement for Manuel Neuer."
