And the Belgian is fond of Gomez. The fact that he can play both centre-back and wing-back is something the coach appreciates.

Last season, 27-year-old Gomez made three assists in a total of 51 competitive matches, including 31 from the start.

Gomez, who is under contract until the summer of 2027, has also been linked with Saudi clubs.
