Former Chelsea star Bolo Zenden expects Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to have a big World Cup.
Zenden reckons Rooney can shine for England on the big stage and be a key player for boss Roy Hodgson.
He said: "Wayne is a strong character and he's the type of player who rises to the occasion. He can make an impact at the World Cup in Brazil."
Zenden, currently assistant-manager at Jong PSV in Holland, says there is no reason why the England man cannot be the catalyst that fires the national side.
"I don't understand why people doubt his qualities," Zenden added. "He's done it in the past and he can do it again now. Sometimes players need to be fired up a bit, maybe that's what happening now."
