TRIBAL TEAM OF THE WEEK: Arsenal keeper Cech returns to best as Pedro sparkles on Chelsea debut

Third week in and another lot of names selected to form our illustrious Team of the Week.

Petr Cech was stellar for Arsenal on Monday night, denying a free-flowing Liverpool in the first half with some head-shaking saves, led by his super claw to keep out Christian Benteke's pointblank attempt.

On Sunday, Pedro Rodriguez masterminded reigning champion Chelsea's first win of the season with a goal and an assist as that man Riyad Mahrez continued to trod around in gold-lined boots.

You've all been waiting patiently.....now here's the XI:

TRIBAL TEAM OF THE WEEK - 3

Goalkeeper

Petr Cech (Arsenal)

Any doubts over Cech's quality were surely put to bed in a ten minute period on Monday night, when the Arsenal gloveman made two outstanding saves to deny first Benteke, and then Philippe Coutinho. Just shades his opposite number Simon Mignolet for this spot in probably the most entertaining 0-0 draw you're likely to come across.

Defenders

Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool)

It's never an easy task keeping Arsenal scoreless at the Emirates, but Clyne and the rest of his Liverpool back four cronies (Skrtel, Lovren, Gomez) did just that. Dealt with Alexis Sanchez pretty well for most of the night, and provided overlap going forward when it was needed.

Fabricio Coloccini (Newcastle United)

You got the feeling early on in the Manchester United vs Newcastle game that Coloccini wasn't settling for an honourable loss. Absolutely mammoth in the Magpies' clean sheet at Old Trafford.

Vincent Kompany (Manchester City)

Kompany has now featured in this prestigious, exclusive, highly sought after team-of-the-week column every week of the season thus far. Cleared one off the line to deny ex-teammate Gareth Barry in City's 2-0 win at Goodison Park. The Belgian is symbolic of the confidence with which City has started this season.

Aleksandar Kolarov (Manchester City)

Put that lethal left boot of his to good use by lashing one in from an angle tighter than Arsene Wenger's spending policy. Has made a terrific start to this season.

Midfielders

Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City)

Mahrez has four goals in three games to start the season, after netting the equaliser against Tottenham on the weekend. This trickster has plenty of tricks (as you'd expect of a trickster) but is this season converting his flashy skills and talent into goals.

James Morrison (West Bromwich Albion)

A big day for Jimmy. Missed a penalty against the champions, but fought back to score two great goals as West Brom pushed Chelsea all the way. Has the distinct honour of being the only player ever to have missed a penalty, and still made it into Tribal Football's team of the week.

David Silva (Manchester City)

The Spanish maestro looks in the mood this season, and produced another fantastic display in the middle of the park against Everton. When Silva is on song, City always look dangerous, and Manuel Pellegrini will be praying his star man can remain fit and healthy.

Pedro (Chelsea)

Didn't take the Manchester UnitedChelsea speedster long to make an impact, scoring after just 20 minutes on debut against West Bromwich. The driving rain at The Hawthorns made certain Pedro was 100% in England and not sunny Barcelona anymore, however it deterred him little as he struck a well taken goal and set up Diego Costa for a second. Turned out to be a vital contribution in the context of the game.

Forwards

Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Last season's top scorer opened his account for the champions by bagging a fine finish and an assist in the victory over the Baggies. Looked well up for it so expect a little purple patch from the Brazilian-Spaniard.

Callum Wilson (Bournemouth)

Netted Bournemouth's first ever Premier League goal early on against West Ham. Not content with that honour, Wilson went on to score the club's first ever hat-trick in a stunning display as the Cherries saluted 4-3 to also grab their first victory in the top flight. The performer of the week without a doubt

Manager

Eddie Howe (Bournemouth)

From fourth tier to top flight in six seasons, and Howe has been there for most of it. The Bournemouth story continues to unfold, and another chapter was added on Saturday as the Cherries won 4-3 at West Ham to secure their first ever victory in the Premier League. Despite being only just older than some of his players, Howe is doing wonderful things in Dorset.

Special Mentions

Simon Mignolet (Liverpool)

The Belgian is pretty stiff to miss out this week, given he put in a fantastic performance to keep a clean sheet at the Emirates. After seeing his counterpart Cech make several save of the season contenders up the other end, Mignolet got in on the act, making crucial stops to deny Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey, among others.

Russell Martin (Norwich City)

Before this season, Martin had played 234 times for Norwich, scoring a total of 14 goals. 'The Canary Pele', as he is known down at Carrow Road, now has two in two games, and also put in a solid defensive display as his side drew 1-1 with Stoke.

Scott Dann (Crystal Palace)

A decent defensive performance was capped by a powerful headed goal and the interception and assist that led to Sako's winner.

Bakary Sako (Crystal Palace)

Scored an 87th minute winner on his Premier League and Crystal Palace debut. Looked impressive and his arrival may spell bad news for Wilfried Zaha. Stepped in to Yannick Bolasie's boots with aplomb.
