Tottenham plan swap offer for Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout

Tottenham are eyeing Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout.

Tottenham could use Tanguy Ndombele in a shock potential swap deal for Roma's Veretout, says Tuttosport.

Veretout has had quite a turnaround since being involved in the Aston Villa side who were relegated in the 2015-16 season.

The now-28-year-old was one of the better performers in that team, which fell into the Championship after picking up just 17 points.

He spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Saint-Etienne before securing a permanent move to Fiorentina.

Veretout is now being linked to a return English football with manager Antonio Conte and Spurs' director of football, Fabio Paratici, keen on the player.

Roma are interested in a deal for Ndombele, which would be a surprise given Jose Mourinho's relationship with the 25-year-old during their time together at the North London outfit.
