Brentford captain Pontus Jansson has resisted the chance to return to the Sweden national team.

With Sweden struggling with injury to their key defenders, coach Janne Andersson contacted Jansson last week.

"Now it was the same situation again and so I think it is my duty to examine the situation with him on the basis that he knows our game and knows the basic principles," said Andersson.

"He thought a few days again, but he does not feel 100 percent for it.

"He thrives so well with the life he now has with club teams, family and no national team."
