Sunderland remain hopeful of landing Tottenham midfielder Steed Malbranque this week.

Teemu Tainio, Nick Colgan, David Meyler and Pascal Chimbonda have all been snapped up by Sunderland in the last week.

And The Sun says Malbranque has indicated he is keen on a move to the Stadium of Light and will give an answer by the end of the week.
