Southampton striker Shane Long admits he's not one for interviews.

Long concedes he's happy to avoid the spotlight.

"I just don't like the limelight," he told the club's website. “I don't like doing interviews and I don't like speaking to the papers or on TV.

“I just don't like that side of football. I know it's part and parcel – I'm not complaining about it – but when I retire I think that's going to be the nicest thing for me; just disappearing into the background, watching games and taking yourself out of it."

He added: “I'm quite good with my mind. I don't let things get to me – I don't read articles, I don't listen to things that are hammering me."
