Scotland boss Strachan out to stop Tottenham star Bale

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan is well aware that he will have to stop Gareth Bale in World Cup qualifying next month.

The Scots meet Wales on March 22 as they look to get their 2014 Brazil qualification campaign back on track and Strachan knows that the Tottenham ace holds the key to stopping the Dragons.

"We talked about that and the systems we'll face in the upcoming qualifiers. We spent a couple of days this week thinking about the March games," he said.

"Bale is one of the top players in the world. I have been fortunate to watch him in the last two years and just think sometimes he is unstoppable. He is that good.

"Like anybody, though, you need the ball before you become unstoppable.

"I have seen him live 12 or 13 times and he has always done something, whether it is a terrific run, a shot, a goal or bit of magic. He is just a great player."
