Allan Saint-Maximin admits Hatem Ben Arfa convinced him about joining Newcastle United.

The winger played with former Toon attacker Ben Arfa at Nice.

He told the Telegraph: "He told me to sign here.

"He is a good friend, we grew up in the same region. He told me he had one of the best periods of his career in Newcastle."

Ben Arfa is currently a free agent.
