Newcastle boss Howe: Burnley have never deviated from Kompany's style

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is wary facing Burnley tomorrow.

Both teams need a result to keep their own objectives alive.

Howe said: "For me I always tried to focus on the game and not where it is played. I urge my players to do the same. In the last few games we have shown flashes of being back to our very best. I want to see that for 90 minutes if we can.

"Burnley are an interesting team, in terms of how they play. Vincent Kompany has done a good job. He's been true to his principles, they play a really expansive, attacking brand of football. Something they have not deviated from and the manager deserves credit for that. In recent weeks they have been reaping the rewards of that.

On visiting his former club, he added: "Of course, I know Turf Moor really well. It is a difficult place to go, but we will be ready for the game."

On Newcastle's Euro hopes, Howe said: "We know we're going to have to win games to qualify for Europe and we know it's going to be tight. We're up against top quality teams and Chelsea are in a good vein of form too so I think it will go right to the wire."
