Club Brugge coach Scott Parker knew he was sacked BEFORE Tuesday night's Champions League defeat to Benfica.

The former Fulham and Bournemouth manager lasted only weeks as manager with the Belgians.

Sjotcast reports local journalist David Van den Broeck knew before the match against Benfica that Parker would be kicked out.

Out of respect, the news was only announced just before the end of the match. Parker himself also knew on Tuesday afternoon that the clash with the Portuguese would be his last match as Club coach.

He tried to keep up appearances, though. Before the match against Benfica, VTM journalist Jarno Bertho asked him about Sunday's cracker against Standard. The Englishman's answer was quite muddled.

“Parker eventually played along," says pundit Ludo Vandewalle. “But he was still a little surprised. Like: 'Oops, he just doesn't know yet that this will be my last match'."
