Newcastle, Leeds eyeing Philadelphia Union fullback Kai Wagner

German MLS left-back Kai Wagner is a January target for Premier League clubs.

The 25-year-old has been linked with Leeds United for the past few weeks but has reportedly risen up the list as one of the top candidates for Jesse Marsch to replace Junior Firpo with, says the Athletic.

Wagner has been one of the best defenders across the MLS over the past few seasons, with him and Philadelphia Union reaching the MLS Cup final off the back of his nine assists.

If the Whites were to try and make a deal when the window opens next month, it's believed OGC Nice and Premier League rivals Newcastle United are still showing an interest in the German, meaning they'd face some tough competition for his signature.
