Burnley defender Ben Gibson is being lined up for a return to Riverside.

The Mirror says Middlesbrough will take back Gibson – but only if they reach an agreement on wages with Burnley.

The Teessiders are desperate for centre-half cover with Daniel Ayala and Ryan Shotton out.

Gibson, 27, a favourite before his Boro departure two years ago, has made one Clarets appearance so far this season.

He is also attracting interest from Germany this month.
