Jason Denayer admits it will be a great thrill to play alongside Adnan Januzaj at Sunderland.

The Manchester City defender joined the Black Cats on a season-long on deadline day and will link up with his fellow young Belgian and close friend Januzaj at the Stadium of Light.

Manchester United winger Januzaj is also on loan at Sunderland.

"For me it is great to have Januzaj here," Denayer told the club's official website.

"It is not always easy to come to a new club where you know nobody, but he is here to help me and I know him really well and I'm happy to have him here.

"We are very good friends and we are going to be very happy if we play together on the pitch."
