Malmo FF signing Pontus Jansson: I had Saudi offers at Brentford

Malmo FF signing Pontus Jansson admits he had offers from Saudi Arabia as he prepared to leave Brentford.

Jansson chose to re-sign for MFF after coming off contract with the Bees.

He recalled to Sportbladet: "It was not the easiest thing to leave. But I also knew what was on the other side. To be able to play for my club and my city and that my parents, children and friends can watch my matches.

"What I get to experience here cannot be valued in money, but I will not come home and play for free. Far from it.

"I could also get a contract in Saudi Arabia and come home when I was 34, but it wouldn't have had the same weight. The last few years have been on a level that is not human. I've played over 50 games every year and it's not like when Malmö met Sirius at the weekend and had one more man at the end so you can slide around with a cigarette in your mouth, the Championship and Premier League don't exist, it's war in 90 minutes.

"When the first injury came in Brentford I started to feel that maybe now is the time (to leave)."
