Liverpool star Luis Diaz is expected to return to action for the club in the winter.

Diaz is likely to play some part in the club's winter training camp in Dubai next month.

The Reds will be preparing for the remainder of the club season, as the World Cup plays out in November and December.

Diaz is in Colombia at present, recovering, but has no chance of playing in the World Cup.

"Luis definitely, if everything goes to plan," said Liverpool assistant boss Pep Lijnders about Diaz and his teammate Diogo Jota, per Liverpool Echo.

"We can't wait to see him back, he is this player who smiles when he has the ball at his feet.

"Diogo will join us to continue his rehab. The conditions to train and recover in Dubai are just very, very good. A change of scenery is always a welcome factor when recovering from a long-term injury."
