Leicester boss Rodgers pleased with Pereira return

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers was pleased with Ricardo Pereira's return for their Europa League defeat to Zorya Luhansk.

Rodgers had wanted Ricardo to play 75 minutes but took him off at half-time. Thankfully, he was not injured, and the same went for Wilfred Ndidi.

He said: “Ricardo did well in the first half, it's just a process with him, playing games and stepping up to this level, having been out for so long, so we're happy with that.

“We looked at it at half-time, the medical team in particular, and we needed caution. It was very cold and the pitch was quite slippy so we needed to make sure. But he had a good 45 minutes, which was a good start for him.

“Wilf had 55 minutes in the game, that was the plan, and he's come through that well, so that was a real positive for us."
